Proud Home Owner Nov. 16th, 2006 @ 02:32 am
Yup! Today was the day! We now own a home! We are offically grown ups because:
1.We are married
2.We moved away from our home town
3.We work way to much
and the final criteria!
4.We OWN our home!!!!!!!

I spent the day poking around Pottstown(and getting lost and finding my way back to the house) and painting the tinted primer on the walls in the dinning room...yup the walls are a my little pony pink!! I'll post before during and after pics this weekend. The carpet in the kitchen is glued down :( POOP! So I don't know what we'll do. Wait till my parents come and get their input I guess. It was a big day. I needed the break from my kids....they have been VERY naughty! I hope they are better tomorrow...but they probably won't be. That's ok! I have paint therapy after work! Yay Red Walls! REDRUM! REDRUM!!!!!!

Getting excited!!! Nov. 12th, 2006 @ 02:12 pm
Wednesday is when we close on our house!!!!! I'm so excited! I went last night and bought most of our paint, and all of our paint supplys. I can't wait to get started!!!!!! I'm taking a bunch of time off from Brusters so that I can get most(if not all) of it done before Mom, Dad, Katie, and Poseidon get here on the 22nd. I can't wait to have Poseidon back. I have missed him so much. And I know Achilles is really lonley. We are going to adopt another dog once we get Po back. A girl doggie! Achilles goes nuts every time we say, "Achilles! Do you want a girlfriend?" He just runs around like a nut. We've tried saying just "friend" but he'll just sit...he wants a woman! We found a very nice yellow lab mix who we might get. She is very pretty. But the rescue group is getting a bunch of dogs in next week from a shelter in Virgina. We'll see who Achilles and Poseidon like. Anyway! I'll send pics of the house once I've painted and spruced up!

Messy day...but life is good! Nov. 3rd, 2006 @ 12:46 am
The kids were very naughty today. I had 2 very large pee accidents. Yuck! One little boy had to go so bad it went through his pants...not just soaking the pants but throught the material onto the grass outside!!!! CRAZY!!!!

The house is going well. We close in just 13 days! I'm so excited. Rob and I are going to order appliances tonight. YAY! I ordered my granite countertop...which was expensie but worth it. http://www.ameromusa.com/item2002.shtml here is the link. It's called Jaguar! It's wild! I love it. I wanted brown, and Rob wanted Black or Blue...so this had it all. There is a furnature store close to work and they are having a sale so I think we can afford a nice microfiber or leather couch. I think Po will like it...it's fancy! I got pics from Laughing Muse today of Po in his costume...a ballerina! CUTE! That's all folks!!!

Oh lovely day! Oct. 14th, 2006 @ 06:21 pm
Today is such a lovely day here in PA. It is about 60 degrees, blue skies with fluffy clouds. I love fall. All the leaves are changing here and they look so great next to all the old stone houses. Ahhhhh!! Lovely!

I have found lovely countertops for our new kitchen. The colors that I really like are only $65 per square feet. That includes fabrication and instilation. We have 5 different options for the edges. It's so fun! I love our new house to be! It's got so many possibilites. I can't wait to get in and paint and decorate!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah!

YAY! Our offer on the house was accepted! We thought there might be some back and forth...but NO! They took it! Seller assist and year home warentry included! Sweet! We will start home inspections on Friday. YAY YAY YAY! We will take possesion Nov. 17 and own our own home!

Also I got two guina pigs for my classroom today! They are adorable! One is a tri color and the other is white. They are both very sweet. I'm not a huge fan of all white animals usually, but she is very sweet and soft. The lady at Petco said that it was her favorite, and she'd been there for a long time. I will post pics of me with them later!

So I don't know how I can top this! Maybe the day we buy the house I'll get a cat and another dog and win the lottery! Damn! I should have bought a lottery ticket today! YAY YAY YAY!
» We are making an offer!
Yay! We went looking at houses today and found one that we really like. It is a twin in Pottstown PA. It's not the biggest but it's very nice. It needs some work, but not a ton and it's all easy. Here are some pictures!

The neighbors are very nice! We are going tomorrow to write up an offer. We had thought about a different townhouse, but this one is about 15,000 cheaper...and honestly I like it better! It's a little smaller, but we don't need a ton of room. Yay!
» Yay money!
I got a second job!!! Yay! For we definatly need money!

I'm going to be the assistant manager at a Brusters Ice Cream store up the street. My pay starting out isn't awesome, but it's not minimum wage. They said that once my "trial period" was over they would give my a raise. They said I'd "move up quickly." So I will be working there nights and weekends. Hopefully I will be able to stand being away from my family all day and only seeing my husband for a quick kiss before bed. But if I've gotta do it...I gotta do it. Maybe only for a year until I can get a teaching job at an elemntary school that pays more. Just wanted to share the news!
» House
Hello! Well it's been a roller coaster week! We found a house that we liked and we are going to make an offer. We are going in tomorrow to fill out paper work! YAY! It's very nice. Sophisticated...I think Buddha would have liked it! I'll post pictures later!
» A life worth remebering
Buddha was a sweet wonderful caring dog...no...person. At least he thought so. I loved him the moment I saw his picture and fell in love with him more everyday. He was a wonderful joy and light of my life for the year and a half he graced us with his love. He showered us with Buddha hugs and Buddha dances. Even when grumpy he was full of love for everyone he knew...well except squirrls! :) Here is what I will remember him for:

Being the best Houlagan sitter ever!
His inquisitive and all knowing attitude
His ability to light up a room
His cute spotted belly
His snuffly laugh
His candle tail
His prickly fur
The indignent look he gave anyone who called him a dog

Here is what he loved:

Beasty Boys! Yes it's true he danced to them!!!! How silly he was!
McDonalds food
Sunbathing
Chasing his arch nemis...the squirrl
Bossing other dogs around
Playing with tennis balls
Any sort of soft treat

But most of all he loved his family. He loved his baby and protected him with every breath he took. He loved to roll around and become a puppy with him. He loved bossing Poseidon around! He also liked to play with him (bark as Poseidon jumped over and around him). He loved to snuggle with both of his brothers...even if that ment letting Poseidon sit on his head. He loved to sit between his Mommy and Daddy and get all the attention.

We all loved him very much and will be missed. I feel as thought a limb has been taken from me. I feel empyt inside. I wish I could have done something, but it was impossible to guess what would happen.

The vet told us that his stomach somehow got twisted. It cut off the circulation to some of his other vital organs and they were unrepairable. They relived the pressure in his stomach, but there was nothing else that could be done. He died with his Daddy beside him getting coos from every person at the vet's office about what a handsome boy he was, and how well behaived. We will get his remaines in a few weeks. We will keep him with us until we find somewhere he would like to rest forever. He was a wonderful boy and I will miss him like few other creatures on this earth. I hope that Sayyadina is with him and eing polite...but she's probably being her grumpy self, so they can talk about being grumpy together. I think they would both like that.

Buddha you will be forever remembered in my heart and in my soul. We shall all miss you my beloved!
» Buddha is REALLY sick
Rob and I awoke this morning to Buddha trying to throw up at about 4:00 this morning. Rob took him and the baby outside and Buddha kept trying to throw up and had dirariha. He hid under some bushes and when Rob tried to get him out he bit Rob pretty bad. He then hid inside the apartment and kept barking to try to get himself to throw up. When I got up because I could tell something was wrong I saw that his belly was swollen to the size of a beach ball. I found an emrgency vet and Rob left about a half an hour ago to take him there. I'm so worried!!!!! I hope he's okay! I don't know what's wrong and I'm freaking out! I don't even know what to say. I'm just sitting at home waiting for Rob to call and let me know what's going on. We don't have any money and I don't know how we are going to pay for this! GOD! I hope that he's ok!
» Labor day
Well Rob and I were hoping to come home this weekend because I don't have to work on Monday. But Rob has to work so we can't! Poop! I was really excited about seeing everyone and seeing my puppy! I almost cried! Seriously! *Sigh* I don't know when we'll be able to come home next. Rob's trying to talk me into talking a day off work to come, but I don't know...I HATE missing work. Yet...I love missing work. Such a conundrum! BTW I can't spell for crap!

The house we had decided to try to make an offer on got an offer yesterday and they will probably accept! Double Poop! So the good thing about us being here this weekend is that we can go look at more places and hopefully make an offer. The sooner we get a house the sooner we can get our puppy and have people over who want to visit and have the time to visit. *Sigh* I'm very homesick. I miss dancing, I miss my friends, I miss my family, and I REALLY miss Poseidon. People keep asking me about my pets and I have to tell them that I abandoned him! *tear* I hope he will forgive us. I hear he is doing well though. Well this was a deppressing post! I hope my next one is better.
» First Day
Today was my first day of work. The kids are great and I really like all the ladies that I work with. We went to a pizza place and the kids got to make their own pizza. Then we came back and played outside. Then we had lunch and I read then a book to get them ready for their nap. They sleep until 3:00!! Then they have a snack and play until their parents come. It was so easy! Well...except one little boy needed to do his second order of buisness but couldn't. Poor thing he cried all day. Finally right before his parents picked him up he did his thing. I know it's gross but that was the drama of the day. It happens when you work with small childern. Anyway I love it!
» Hooray for $$
Just wanted to let everyone know that Rob got a job! He will be working part time at Barnes and Noble!! Yay!

I think I'm going to go try to find another job for myself to help us ya know..live. I 'm hopeing to find a part time (nights and weekends) that pays about $8 an hour. That seems to be about the base pay around here. I want to work another 15-20 hours a week to make our earning equal to two full time jobs.
» What a lovely day!
Well Rob and I are doing well! My parents have left so yesterday was our first day here all by ourselves. The boys are doing very well, and they love apartment living! We don't lock them up so they get the run of the whole place...so obviously they love that. We used the gym here yesterday it was nice. I guess free stuff is always nice. We are taking the boys to a doggie ice cream social today which should be SUPER CUTE! I don't know if I can handle it! We continue looking for a real place to call home. We found a very nice large twin with a big fenced in yard that is very cheap. The housing market here is beginning to turn into a buyers market according to our realtor and the news. Houses are taking longer to sell and going down in price. So hopefully in a month some nicer houses will come on the market. Who knows! We may still like this twin the best! I hope everyone in Indian is doing well!
» Philly
Well we are here and mainly moved in thanks to the 'rents and my sister. A big thank you to Eric and Thalia and Laura and Rob's family for getting us packed up!!!! We are awsome. After we got here we realized we had forgotten a bunch of stuf...my toothbrush being one! But we have bought several things and are doing well. The dogs seem to really like the new place. We have letting them run around the apartment without locking them up. So far Achilles has been good. We haven't even been locking him up at night!!! What a good boy! The apartment started looking like home today thanks to Mom. She unpacked things and set up our living room.

On the home frount we have found several that we like, but we are looking at about 10 more today. I'll update everyone on that next week when we get our internet(I'm at a cyber cafe now...which is a few computers in a closet at our complex!!! :) ha!).

On the job frount I interviewed with places yesterday and today...and was offered both. I took the one that payed less because it saves me an hour or so driving and I don't have to go on the turnpike and pay to go to work. I'm going to be a teacher for 10 kids (all 3). I can't wait. I start the 28th. I'm going to have a lot of fun! I'm very excited!!!! YAY! Talk to everyone soon! I miss you all!
» I Found a NEAT house!!
Hello all! I found a really neat house and I just felt like sharing! It isn't finished yet...but it has a finished apartment. The things to be done sound minor. Rob and I could get a much larger and nicer house this way! Plus I'm interested in learning how to renovate houses. I think it would be really fun! Here is the url http://philadelphia.prufoxroach.info/details/start.aspx?propid=034T004737769 OHH!!! So excited!
» Good news
Well I'm feeling a little better about the move. I set up two job interviews for the day after we move in. I'm hoping that I can be hired and start working within a week of moving. That would help a lot with our bills!!! Both jobs are full time, but I'm not sure if they have benifits. One is with a day care and the other is at a Preschool(I would be a Preschool Teacher). I love Preschool!! That's the one I really want.

I set up our TV and internet...it's freakin' expensive! We can only get digital TV and we can only get high speed internet. Which I'm sure will be great but that's $100 a month for the both of them! Yikes! I would much rather just have basic cable, but unforchunatly I think that the apartment complex must have a deal with comcast...DOH!

We will be going to look at houses on Tues and Wed with my parents when we move. I'm so excited! I hope we can find a house and then get jobs so we can get our morgage going! I hate leaving Poseidon behind!
» First week of freedom
Well this is the first week that I'm not working full time...and getting paid. Now I clean and pack and organize. And I must say Rob is enjoying having a house wife. :)

I started a diet yesterday and I'm doing great. Last week I lost 3 pounds just because I was so busy that I didn't have time to eat. I hope I can lose around 10 pounds before I leave. I think that it's doable. I do now weight less than Rob!! That makes me happy.

On a different note...I'm going to have a good-bye Hafla on August 11th at my parents house. Anyone who wants to dance is welcome to come. Or if you just want to come and enjoy some dancing and say good-bye you can come and hang out. Just let me know if you want to dance so I can make up the order. Thanks!
